Eighties pop classic “Take On Me” was recorded by the Norwegian band, A-ha. Keyboardist Furuholmen, known to fans as ‘Mags,’ notes the song became a hit largely due to its ground-breaking and multiple award-winning music video, directed by Steve Barron, in which the two main characters physically transition in and out of a comic book environment.
The original video was produced in 1985. In 2008, filmmaker Dustin McLean published a "literal" version where all the actions in the video storyline are recited directly in the lyrics. When asked about the 2008 video, Furuholmen said, "It was amazing."
Related to our world of augmented reality, Trixi Studios was first to create an ARKit app that applies the video’s visual style to any environment.
